Oxidation
Use chemical oxidation for the non-biodegradable inert COD.
Ozonation is an effective and efficient method to eliminate inert organic matter that can not be eliminated biologically (recalcitrant, refractory). With a tertiary treatment of ozonation it’s possible to reduce the COD of the effluent to comply with the current legislation, or to reach the water quality parameter values for industrial water reuse.

Estimate and minimize the CO2 dosage through experimental testing.
Tertiary treatment advanced oxidation removes color from the treated water.
