Free oxygen makes up about 21% of the air, the rest being mainly nitrogen and less than 1% argon, carbon dioxide and atmospheric dust. It is also found combined with hydrogen in water, accounting for about 89% of its mass.
It is not very soluble in water but is more easily soluble in other substances such as alcohol, acetone and certain molten metals.
Light blue in colour, liquid oxygen boils at around -183°C and solidifies at around -218.4°C, taking the form of hexagonal crystals.
Thanks to its reactive and oxidising properties, oxygen improves the productivity of a wide variety of processes in various sectors, from wastewater treatment to metalworking.
Nippon Gases supplies oxygen in cylinders (gaseous state) or in tanks and mobile containers (liquid state).
