Gas and equipment for additive manufacturing industry

Special products for the additive manufacturing market.

Effects of oxygen and moisture traces

3D printing is a multilayer process, and if during this process, the surface oxidises, then it remain strapped in the product.

It is precisely for this reason, these two pollutants must be reduced as much as possible, since there is no chance to repair damages, which translates into product loss.

Gases we use

The PBF (Powder Bed Fusion) process commonly use nitrogen with materials like stainless steel, or argon for other types of materials. We can help you analyse whatis the best performing mixture for your DED (Direct Energy Deposition) or PBF process. Another gas solution is helium, which is used in the EBM (Electron Beam Machine) process, although being expensive for this process, it consumes a little amount.

On the other hand, the FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) process uses argon, nitrogen and small percentages of hydrogen inargon, but only in the metal sintering phase. Forfurther information don’t hesitate to contact us.
