As oxygen (O2) has the ability to react with the carbon in the steel, which generates heat that continues to feed the process, it is used for thermal cutting (oxyfuel, plasma and laser)

Oxygen is used, in small percentages, mixed with Argon to obtain a good aesthetic welding of carbon steel or some high alloy steels.
